7 nights at the Hameau Vert by Nature
The Périgord Noir is one of the most beautiful regions of France, renowned for its medieval villages, castles, prehistoric caves, and gastronomy. Here is a 7-day tour to discover the Périgord Noir, using Hameau Vert par Nature as your starting point. The high concentration of villages listed as "Most Beautiful Villages of France" is exceptional and well worth exploring.
Day 1 – Discovering Sarlat-la-Canéda
Discover the old medieval town, capital of the Périgord Noir .
Visit to the market (Wednesday or Saturday).
A stroll through the cobbled streets, sometimes narrow, its viewpoint, its church, its squares and its many buildings.
Dinner featuring local specialties

Day 2 – Dordogne Valley Tour
Beynac Castle and its hilltop village.
La Roque-Gageac (listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France)
A barge trip on the Dordogne river.
Stop at Castelnaud Castle , dedicated to the Middle Ages.

Day 3 – Gardens and villages
The Gardens of Marqueyssac or the gardens of Eyrignac or the Water Gardens of Carsac.
The hilltop village of Domme .
Optional: hot air balloon flight at sunset.

Day 4 – Prehistory

Discover Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil , the world capital of Prehistory.

Day 5 – The most beautiful villages
Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère (listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France) in the Vézère valley

Day 6 – Vézère Valley
A walk along the Vézère valley.
Reignac Fortified House or the troglodytic site of La Roque Saint Christophe
Canoeing on the Vézère or hiking.

Day 7 – Treats and relaxation
Two options depending on your preferences:
Staying in the Dordogne : visit a walnut farm, a truffle orchard (in season) and so many other possibilities...
Or take a trip to the nearby Lot department to Rocamadour (classified as the Most Beautiful Village in France) and, if time permits, the tourist train of Martel (classified as the Most Beautiful Village in France).

Ideal period : May, June, September and early October.
Getting around : a car is essential.
Budget : expect to spend around €60 to €120 per day per person (excluding accommodation) depending on the activities chosen.
This 7-day tour of the Périgord Noir represents approximately 250 to 300 km of driving over the week, with daily journeys averaging 30 minutes from Hameau Vert par Nature, which leaves plenty of time to enjoy the visits and landscapes.
